MAHI
The Magda A. Hernández Institute of Wellness and Professional Learning (MAHI) is a space dedicated to Irving ISD employee wellness and development. Named after Superintendent Magda A. Hernández, the building was inspired by her message during the COVID-19 pandemic: “Self-care isn’t selfish. It’s necessary.” MAHI features professional learning spaces, a gym-equipped wellness room, a meditation space, a patio, as well as free fitness, nutrition, and financial classes to help staff prioritize wellness in daily life.

The brand identity blends wellness and education. The logo, built from the acronym MAHI, uses earthy, nature-inspired tones. These colors were carefully selected in collaboration with the building’s architects to create harmony between the logo and the interior design. Symbolism is also embedded in the logo: a book in the “M” represents learning, the “H” reflects the building’s architectural frame lines, and the “I” features a flame as a nod to the Irving ISD logo.
